Education Policy Committee to Meet January 17 at Towson University
The Committee on Education Policy of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ (USM)
Board of Regents will meet in public session on Thursday, January 17 in
Chesapeake Room #1 on the third floor of the University Union at Towson
University. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m.
The Education Policy Committee will consider several agenda items, including:
- New program proposals, including a bachelor of urban and regional planning
from Frostburg State University; a bachelor of arts in environmental issues from
Salisbury University; a master of science and doctorate in computer engineering
from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; a doctorate in urban and
regional planning and design from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP);
a post-baccalaureate certificate in museum scholarship and material culture from
UMCP; and a doctorate in clinical audiology from UMCP
- Revised USM policy on intellectual property
- Campus crime reports as required by the U.S. Department of Education
- Discussion on the USM response to the ongoing teacher shortage
- Analysis of proposed drug policies for USM faculty and staff
- Discussion on USM participation in the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center
and other multi-institutional regional centers
